Messier Images

This is a 16 minute exposure of M1. It was taken with a Meade LX200 8" F/6.3 telescope and a Cookbook 245 camera. The scope was unguided during the exposure. The exposure was taken at 02:47UT on Jan 16. The image was corrected with a dark frame subtraction and a flat field correction applied. The image was log enhanced.

This is a 4 minute exposure of M27, the Dumbbell nebula. It was taken with a Meade LX200 8" F/6.3 telescope and a Cookbook 245 camera. The scope was unguided during the exposure. The exposure was taken at 23:33UT on Oct 23. The image was corrected with a dark frame subtraction and a flat field correction applied. The image was log enhanced.

This is a mosaic of four, 4 minute exposures of M33. They were taken with a Meade LX200 8" F/6.3 telescope and a Cookbook 245 camera. The scope was unguided during the exposures. The exposures were taken at 02:41UT on September 19. Each of the images was corrected with a dark frame subtraction and a flat field correction applied. The four images were mosaicked trying to balance the overlap region. The final image was log enhanced.

This is a 26 minute exposure of M97, the Owl Nebula. It is the combination of 13 two minute exposures taken with a Meade LX200 8" F/6.3 telescope and a Cookbook 245 camera. The scope was unguided during any of the exposures. The exposure was taken at 2:40 UT on Feb 7. The images were corrected with a dark frame subtraction and a flat field correction applied. These images were then added together and log enhanced.
